I wanted a small, battery-powered speaker system to be able to listen to my Sandisk Sansa View while at work. The only issue is a work in a distribution center with very loud, continuous noise; conveyor belts, machine horns, loud bangs of large plastic totes being thrown about, etc. With the environment, I also wanted something that, should it get broken, I wouldn't be out $50 or so, which seems to be the average price for speaker systems for devices other than iPod.

This works by plugging into your device's headphone jack. There is a notch in the center where you're supposed to stand it up like it is pictured above, only they didn't account for the cord, so it makes your player sit somewhat off-kilter, unless you just lay it on its side (which I've taken to doing). This could have been fixed with a groove that ran along the back of the tray, but that's really the only major complaint I have.

This thing is -loud-. It only works by your player's volume, but it's got a lot of power to it for being battery-powered. At max volume, I can hear it even above all the noise I specified above (though, I'll admit, listening to anything purely instrumental or quiet/soothing is impossible in that environment), though for the normal user, half-volume or lower would probably be easily sufficient.

As for how fast it goes through batteries, I've had to change mine after approximately 24-26 hours of play at the maximum volume. Once the batteries start to go, the sound gets incredibly crackly at the high volumes and gets worse fairly quickly. Though I have noticed that the crackle goes away (at least temporarily) when the volume is turned down, which leads me to believe the batteries have the potential to last even longer when not played on full-blast continuously.

All in all, very pleased with my purchase. If you want a cheap, small, battery-powered speaker that works with any audio device, this is it.

I've spent a lot of time and some money looking for a suitable speaker set for my Ipod Touch. I like to view movies while laying in bed and this is perfect. No power cords to get in the way, sound is good for my purposes. There is a little ledge to rest the Ipod on, and it allows me to view in landscape mode. All the docking speakers force me to remove the case and most of them force portrait mode position. This is perfect as I don't want to struggle with the case or viewing position. It's a great value for my uses.

I just got my Patriot 32GB "XT" Flash Drive today, and man am I impressed, like WOW! This thing ROCKS! I had about 16GB of data to write to the drive this afternoon, that would be 12 <1GB Apple iPhone and AppleTV MKV and MP4 movies, movies that I custom make for small HD content on a PowerMac G5, with MacTheRipper, DVD2OneX2.4.x, and HandBrake 0.9.1 and/or ElGato's Turbo H.264 video encoder tool.

I make the movies for my iPhone 3G, and AppleTV speaks for itself I hope, but these movies are specifically light/small in terms of content GB's, whereas a normal DVD movie can be anywhere from 4GB to 8GB in size, and the movies are reduced content-wise to be very small, mostly less than 1GB in size, virtually all of them I wrote to Patriot today.

I have been using the movies in my new 12.1" LED backlit LCD-screen equipped notebook/netbook, an Asus 1201N which has a very nice 1368 x 768 HD display, true 720P/1080P video real estate in a very small form-factor notebook/netbook. I simply light up the computer's built-in ArcSoft Total Media Theatre 3 software player, and it can upscale the video to HD *live*, ie directly from my USB flash drive, and BAM!! I am watching an HD movie full screen, just as quickly as you can say "1080P"!!

THAT is what I was copying the movies to the Patriot XT Flash Drive for, and this was its first assignment for me...did it pass with flying colors! Where it would have normally taken many, many minutes (probably close to an hour or more) to copy all those 12 movies to a "normal" flash drive, it only took about 23 minutes with the Patriot XT. I was pretty stunned that it took so little time, so I put the drive to the test with HD Tune Pro's read and write tests, and if you can see my graphics clearly it's pretty obvious that this flash drive is a superior device to other flash drives.

If you can see the first graphic it's the read speed and access time, plus "burst speed" of the drive, and it's astonishing for a flash drive: basically it rocked the test to the tune of about 28MB/second+ (twenty-eight MegaBytes per second!!)! I have never had a flash drive do that well on any HD Tune Pro read test like that, so then I had the utility test the Read and Write speed of the flash drive with a 64MB test sample, and BAM! It knocked out a similar performance, ie in the 2nd graphic I submitted you should be able to clearly see how it performed" 12-15MB/sec write speed, and again, just less than 30MB/sec read speed with a 64MB test sample. Incredible speed!

I don't care *how* this thing looks, ugly, pretty, semi-tough, whatever you know? With those speeds! I think it's marvelous, don't you? Patriot XT is by far the fastest USB 2.0 flash drive I've EVER tested or used, it's just phenomenally fast, if words can convey what my feelings about this performance are. They can hardly describe my shock at such speeds, from a USB flash drive no less, right here in my new Asus 1201N! INCREDIBLE!

I don't really have much else left to say or write at this time, as I think those graphics speak for themselves, and for the Patriot XT, it's pretty much "Game Over"!! Patriot XT wins! LifeTime Warranty, right? Can't argue with that--guaranteed for life! Seems to be made like a brick shirthouse, no less, with heavy-duty rubber waterproof covering, probably pretty much shock-proof also it seems...I like the lanyard extra that comes with it, too! The cap might get lost, but so what? Who cares? Be careful with it, I guess...what else can one say with write and read speeds like that?

I give this little monster Wavey Davey's 5-Star Performance Benchmark Award! Patriot XT Wins the prize, the trophy, the race, and certainly the match! If somebody else makes anything like this I'd like to know what it is, but right now in February, 2010, the Patriot XT Flash Drive is the world's absolute fastest USB 2.0 drive. It takes a bit of flash to impress me, but this thing has done it today, I'll tell you it has!

I recently purchased the 32 GB Patriot thumb drive and have been very happy with it. I work in video animation and web design and have found the drive to be very fast - even with large size file loads or loads with a large number of files. I've read some other complaints about the load speed of the drive but haven't noticed them myself. Perhaps the people complaining about the load speed weren't using a USB 2.0 port or they were simply being overly scientific about it.

Upon opening the drive from its packaging I inserted it into my USB drive right away and both my Vista machine and my Windows XP machine recognized it immediately. There was no formatting or configuration required. I'm not sure how it would react to a Mac.

My biggest concern with a drive like this is losing the cap. For example, if you put the drive on your keychain and stick it in your pocket the cap will eventually come off of the drive in your pocket, or while you take your keychain out of your pocket, or while the drive hangs from your vehicle's ignition. It's also common, at least for me, to forget where I put the caps. In consideration of a potential future lost cap I emailed the manufacturer's customer service department and asked them for extra caps and I received 2 additional caps about two weeks later free of charge. To me, that's customer service.

Overall the drive seems reasonably rugged. It's encased in rubber so I suspect that's what the manufacturer was going for. I'll modify this post if the drive ever craps out on me but for now I'm very satisfied with it - especially when compared to other thumb drives I've owned.

I needed a flash drive bigger than the 1 GB I had, so I read a lot of reviews to see what would work well. I can't recall the brand names, but I read that a few of them have weird extra software on the flash drive that can be annoying and was not interested in having complications. I also checked Newegg and the reviews there, as well as here, were very good.

I am very pleased with this item---it transfers quickly and is easy to reformat whenever you need to. 8 GB is also a nice sized flash drive for getting slightly larger files, like movies, back and forth between friends or whatnot.

I know that storage is getting bigger and cheaper all the time, but I am happy with this one. I think it will be holding up fine for a long time to come.

Mac OSX/Windows Compatibility tip: If you are a Mac user, but want to be able to share stuff with Windows users, go to your Disk Utility, find this drive, and go to the "Partition" tab. Pick to have 1 Partition, click the "Options" button, and choose "Master Partition." After that, be sure to select the type of formatting to be "FAT" (default is Mac OSX Journaled, I believe) This will allow it to be compatible with both Mac and PC for sharing files between the two.

Some 35 years after its release, The Living Bible Paraphrased can still excite. Be aware that this is indeed a paraphrase, and NOT a translation, and has been done by one man, the late Ken Taylor. It is meant as a reading Bible, and not meant for study---if you want to seriously study the Bible, use a good, formal equivalent translation, such as NASB, HCSB, NKJV, KJV, or even the NIV, for that matter. Untold thousands of people came to Christ, thanks to the Living Bible. God used this book in a powerful way. Many persons who never, ever, would pick up a Bible, read the Living Bible and became Christians. I've seen people carrying this green hardback for so long that it had actually turned black, and would read no other Bible. This particular edition, I could do without the red lettering very easily. But, as I stated above, this will make the Bible come so alive for you. Buy one. Try it---you'll like it.

I have experimented reading all the new Bible translations out there. And I can conclude that few if any of them do the job the original Living Bible does in enhancing the meaning of difficult passages from the King James. This Bible shouldn't totally replace what you read, but I know great Christians who rely on it daily. The motive of Ken Taylor, the translator, was to make the Bible understandable for his whole family. His passion for simplicity produced a work that still stands as the best paraphrase. The NLT (New Living Translation) does not stand on Taylor's work. Instead, it's more of a re-working of his concept. The result is a very wordy, sometimes cumbersome text. It reads well, but not as concise as the LB. Taylor took great care to use words that simplify the KJV or ASV without losing the jist of the text. His work is even more impressive in light of other factors: he did this alone. There were some later revisions, but far fewer than say what the NASB has gone through. The Jesus Movement in the 1970's was largely built on this truly evangelical Bible version that spoke clearly to a generation that needed Christ. And finally, the LB has been the foundation for efforts like the NIV, NLT, CEV and NCV. None of which really built on Taylor's work. I know how widespread the NIV is now, but there's something sterile and empty about it. The LB is far more lucid and lyrical than the NIV. Some of the paraphrases are adventurous and somewhat off the mark. But for the most part this Bible hits it's mark. The fact that it is used by conservatives like Jerry Falwell and Chuck Swindoll speaks volumes of it's credibility and readablity. Kenneth Taylor did a God inspired thing, and the Lord poured out a blessing to all of us!

Overall i really liked the headset. My main complaint is that they give you a 18" wire to charge it with and when you plug it to charge, it turns off! Basically you need to remember to plug it in every day or you will find yourself experiencing a new form of dropped calls. I have had this thing randomly turn off on me so many times that I have moved on to a different headset all together.

Why buy a wireless headset when it doesn't work half the time? You wouldn't buy a laptop that didn't work when the battery was charging, would you?

I've had this headset for quite some time now, and I'm very familiar with it. Unfortunately, I'm also familiar with two shortcomings which render it basically useless.

* The battery life is extremely short. A full charge lasts 4-6 hours. I can listen to music while working, or I can use it for a long evening gaming session, but I can't do both. Its charge just doesn't last long enough.
* The headset does not work while charging. That is, once one expends the headset's painfully short charge, no sound comes out of the headset until it is charged up sufficiently and has been disconnected from said charger. It simply does not work while plugged in.
* Incidentally, and far less importantly, the controls are annoyingly clunky. You need to push and hold the volume buttons for them to do anything, which is a pretty annoying analog throwback for a digital headset.

While sound quality and range on this headset are excellent, the two problems that I've described are stupid and self-obviating design flaws. It's pointless to own this. Get something that runs on AAs instead.

Adds a bit of color to the phone, not really protective...not really needed for scratch protection as the back is already a thin plastic easily replaced. But nevertheless I wanted purple :) Its not as purple in real life as it is in the picture though. I am a little disappointed in that as my old phone's case was the same kind of look but a prettier purple color.

The color on this is wonderful! A VERY pretty purple! It fits the phone nicely while not adding much bulk. I like it much better with the case on because I can grip the phone better now. I also love how it slides together top to bottom instead of front to back. I had a front to back cover on my Blackberry storm and every time I dropped it the case break off! I feel that the design of this case should prevent that from happening, because let's face it, I WILL end up dropping this phone! :) Anyway, great cover, great color, great price!

So, after having this case a little over a year I wanted to update. I have dropped my phone countless times (I told you!), and this case has never even tried to come off. After a year, all the edges are worn and are no longer purple, but that is expected.The quality of the case is still just as perfect.

My wireless router is in one room, and I needed internet in my living room for my XBOX. I didn't really want to spend $80 on a wireless adapter specific to the XBOX, so I looked around for what turned out to be a "bridge." I chose this one on for two reasons:
1. Cheap - $31 after $10 rebate
2. Functional - Unlike most, this has 2 LAN out ports, so I could not only hook up my XBOX, but also have an extra to connect to my DVR when I want to order PPV, or hook up to my Blu-Ray or TV for firmware updates.

My experience with connection wireless networks is that it is usually a bigger pain than it should be, and this fell right into that category. I don't blame this bridge itself, just wireless network creation in general. I read the previous posts with the warning of setting a static IP. The manual also tells you to do this, just not how. After some googling around, I found out how:

For Vista:
Click on the "Start" sphere
Click "Network"
Click "Network and Sharing Center" at the top
Click "Manage Network Connections" in the left menu bar
Right click on "Local Area Connection" and go to properties
Double Click "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" (Or right click, "Properties")
Select "Use the following IP Address" and put in an IP greater than 192.168.1.2 (I did 192.168.1.8)
Subnet Mask will auto-populate to 255.255.255.0
That's all you need, then "OK" your way out.

Opened internet explorer, typed "http://192.168.1.2"...nothing. Turns out you have to give it a few minutes. It finally worked. Got in, follow the User Guide to set it to "Client Mode," found my network, and added it. I didn't know the security my new Verizon Wireless provided router was (turns out its the basic 64bit WEP if you have it), so that added to my confusion.

It didn't work right away. I don't know why, but I spun in circles for an hour with different security settings, different cables, etc. In the end, I went back to my original setup, and it worked. Not sure why, but I'd suggest to just give it time.

I didn't have to do anything special to the XBOX and it connected to Xbox Live without any issues.

I hope this helps. In the end, great product for the money (so far). The issues in connecting it are consistent with previous experience in connecting any wireless components. This item and documentation was not any worse than others in my opinion.

I think most of you have followed J. Ferguson "jimsrod"'s review setting up the wireless bridge method. However, I just want to add more info in case anyone of you encountered the problem I had.

My old router: Netgear WNR834M Firmware Version 1.1.15NA

Problem encounter:
I followed all the steps from "jimsrod", yet I still could not connect to internet, what went wrong?

Solution:
If you have WPA key, be sure to watch out. ZyXEL WAP3205 will have hard time to communicate if the router set a security key with "WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]".
Please set the router to more simple security key with either only TKIP style or AES style, do not set it as a combination. It won't work. (Took me 4 hours to figure out)

When you setup the profile, in order to make sure it's working, please go to Profile tabs ( or look into your User's Guide Pg. 57), there are 2 icons you should know. If your key is simple and easy to access, it will have a green background with a check, and if it's too complicated, a red background with a check will shown.

ZyXEL WAP3205 Review by BC (Boston, USA)

I needed a temporary wireless internet bridge to connect 3 desktop computers wirelessly while an office space was being renovated. I initially tried a Netgear WG602 Wireless-G Access Point and while it had a Client Mode that seemed like it would function as a wireless bridge, the documentation for it was very poor and after some fussing it turned out that it could only work with one computer at a time so I returned it. Some Googling found the ZyXel, and while I was skeptical of a brand name I never heard of before, and that it was was over $15 cheaper than the Netgear despite also being Wireless-N as opposed to the Netgear being only Wireless-G, I'll be darned if it turned out to be a much most sophisticated device than the Netgear or even the last Linksys units I had fussed with, despite being a very small and light device to boot.

Documentation for these types of devices is usually pretty awful as a matter of course for whatever reason, and I actually found the onboard web setup to be much slicker and more straightforward than what the Netgear had. As noted in the prior review by J. Fergunson, though, the place where you need to go to switch to Client Mode is not at all obvious -- it's under "Maintenance" and then "Sys OP."

But it turned out that unlike the Client Mode in the the Netgear, the Client Mode in the ZyXel supports full wireless bridging between that and any typical wireless router. While the ZyXel comes with 2 Lan ports to hook up 2 computers, I just connected one of them to a spare 5 port hub, and then hooked up the three PC's through that. No problem.

So as a piece of tech, it's actually pretty impressive for the money. It's not meant for non-techies, but you can find some basic how-to's like that in the J. Fergunson review here and there on the Internet.
